Dear all,
The new School year with TVYP is about to kick off. We are really excited about this coming year. God did so much in the area last year, we have seen young people come to faith and many others deepen their relationships with our Lord. This year we trust God will do even more amazing things.
First of all we say goodbye and thank you to Vicki Bellingham who was one of the first workers in the project and did a lot of pioneering work, which has set the work of TVYP in good foundations. Vicki is now working as a personal assistant in Exeter, and as a Bodyshop party representative (If anyone would like a party or to find out more call Vicki on 01626854538).
With that we say hello to our new workers! This year the project has been able to grow thanks to our friends of the project, funding has been made available to take on an essential third worker. The two new workers will be joining Karly in the work this year. You can meet all the workers on the next page. If you are interested in becoming a friend of the project and supporting our work financially please speak to your church Vicar, or Karly.
We had a good summer, Vicki took two of our young people and two of our young leaders to Mid-Wessex Christian Camp (MWCC). The two girls learnt more about God and drew closer to him and the two young leaders got really stuck into their roles. Vicki reports “I saw all four young people grow in their faith, confidence, and self-esteem. We had so much fun and all of them wish to return“. If anyone is inetrested in attending this next year please let Karly know.
Karly took a group of seven to a camp called Soul Survivor. They had an amazing time meeting with God and learning more about him from great teachers and each other, with powerful worship, prayer and ministry times. It was a great time to get to know the young people even more and see them supporting each other and others too, and generally enjoying all that Soul Survivor had to offer.
We will be continuing our work within Teign school two days a week, along side our two detatched projects, our evening youth groups and two Christians unions. There are also some knew things in the planning, look out for information in our next newsletter.
God Bless,
TVYP
Hi, Hopefully most of you will recognise me, I have been working for the project for a year now. Last year was an amazing year for me, and I am really excited about this year just starting.
If you do not know already I am 19 and come from Ilfracombe in North Devon. I come from a big family of 6 children.
I started doing youth work in my home church with younger kids when I was 16, and did schools work with lower school children when I was in sixth form aswell as working on different camps.
Last year I did the SWYM be transformed year and now I am going on to do the Schoolswork academy course still with SWYM.

Hello,
My name is Markus Trick and I’m one of the new volunteers who is starting work with the TVYP in September.
I’m 22 years old and I come from Germany. My home village is called Sexau. It is near Freiburg and in the Black Forest… maybe some of you have heard of it?
Three years ago, I studied Theology for one year and since then I’ve done two further years studying social work in Kassel. I did this because I want to become a youth worker.
Now I’m very happy to be here in England to do my practical year which is necessary for my occupation. I like to work together with other people towards a common purpose and hope to improve my English here.
I look forward to meeting you!!!!

Hi, I’m Jess Harrison. I am 19 years old.
I have moved here from the Midlands, I live in Stratford Upon Avon.
I finished my A levels last July, and spent 6 months being a nanny in Sardinia, an Italian Island off the west coast.
In the past 6 months I have being doing some voluntary Youth Work in my local Church. I was also a leader within a Cyber Café group, giving the younger people of my Village somewhere to spend time with each other and to chat.
I decided to join SWYM, because I wanted a new challenge, and to strengthen my faith by serving.
Jess Harrison
All three workers are training with SWYM. Markus and Jess are on the foundation year called Be Transformed. Karly completed that course last year and is now doing a new SWYM stream called Schoolswork Academy. For more information on SWYM visit their website at www.swym.org.uk
